2013 Fall TV Shows Premieres

So the new fall tv season is starting out and there is a pretty good list of new shows and returning shows starting up. The problem is figuring out what you are going to commit the time to watching. There have been a couple shows that David and I have recently dropped because they just were not holding our attention. It can be hard to decide what new shows to watch. If they do not hook me at the first episode do you try a couple more or do you just give up because there are so many other things to watch. Last year Elementary was a show that I tried one episode and just really did not care, even though I like the actor. Some of that came down to the fact that the BBC Sherlock Holmes is just so good another Sherlock show had a lot to live up to.

So now we come to another round of new shows to entertain and dazzle trying to grab our attention. So here are some shows coming out that I want to give a chance and one that I am already sold on.

Sleepy Hollow

So when I first heard about this I was really not sure and honestly I’m still not. At the same time it is getting some good and interesting buzz from other blogs that I read. Also, it does deal somewhat with time travel, so I figure I might as well give it a chance. At the same time if the first episode does not capture me it will be removed from the list.

Premieres September 16

The Blacklist

This show seems somewhat just a rehash of other stories where criminals become obsessed with some rookie. At the same time the stories are usually pretty interesting and the criminal in this case looks interesting. Again, I will give it probably one episode before I decide yay or nay.

This is a new show that caught my attention because it is a cop in a wheelchair who is still working, which just seemed a bit odd to me. I am curious how it will all play out. I tend to like police dramas and this show is going to really depend on whether Blair Underwood does a good job as the main character. I might be willing to give this more than one episode because it will depend on the main character.

Premieres October 2

Tomorrow People

When I first heard about this one, I admit it made me think of Heroes, Alphas, etc. At the same time the love of science fiction makes me want to give this a chance in hopes that it will be good. It might take a couple of episodes to establish the story and I do like Arrow, which is also on the CW. Aliens, special powers, it could be good or could be V which did not excite me.

Premiers October 9

I am actually pretty excited about this show. It is supposed to be a 10 episode run exploring Dracula. I personally love vampire lore and the story of Dracula is always fascinating. Also, Jonathan Rhys Meyers looks like he is going to be amazing.

Premieres October 25

Marvel’s Agents of S.h.i.e.l.d

Now this show is a no brainer because it is Marvel, Agent Coulson, Joss Whedon, and superheroes. I mean what else does anyone need really. I mean I have not even seen this show yet and if I had to choose to only watch one show this would be the show.

Premieres September 24

Those are all the shows that I am going to give a shot and try. We will see if any of them have staying power (besides Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D).

One response to “2013 Fall TV Shows Premieres

  1. Ironside is a remake of a Raymond Burr (Perry Mason) show from the 70’s! I’m not sure how well it will translate into present day. I think the original had more slack due to lack of options. Now there is a lot more competition, but police procedural seem to be a perennially popular staple.

I don’t have cable, so I’ll probably wait and see which shows have good buzz and then watch available episodes on Hulu. I, however, have that curse where whenever I find a new show I like, it will probably be cancelled so I try not to get too attached to brand new shows.
