The Nine Alignments of Iron Man

To finish off the franchises of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, today we have Iron Man. It’s where it all started, so where we’ll end for now. Hope you have enjoyed these, and definitely let us know what you think!

The Nine Alignments of Captain America!

Yesterday’s alignment grid was for the Thor movies – today it’s the Captain America movies. Maybe at some point we’ll be able to figure out One Alignment Grid to Rule Them All, when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe… for now, the Captain America movies come pretty close to including most of the main characters! Civil War will especially make that the case!

Sorry this is a bit later, busy day! Should have tomorrow’s up sooner. We’ll give you a guess as to what it’s going to be…

The Nine Alignments of Thor

The top voted topic for an alignment grid from our poll a while back was the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We did a really popular one for Guardians of the Galaxy a while back, and in that same vein, we’re going to do a few other of the movie franchises on their own.

With people visiting this week, this is our plan for the week, so hope you like! Today: the nine alignments of the Thor movies!

Agents of SHIELD – Back Tomorrow!

Agents of SHIELD is back tomorrow for season 2! I kind of expected it tonight, but they seem to have moved the show to Tuesday nights! Which works for us, because we have a lot of shows on Monday nights at the moment… (UPDATE: Apparently it was always Tuesday nights! You lose track of these things watching shows on Hulu! Thanks, commenters, for keeping me accurate!)

This was a show that had a lot going on – mission of the week, a whole host of characters they were introducing us to, but through all of that they went really slowly. They had us asking, so what? They tried to give us a slice of life sort of show – while also giving us mysteries. But not the really big mysteries – those are reserved for the movies. So, the B-rank mysteries. And below – some were harder to care about than others!

And I expect all of that will be back, missions of the week, and the whole team. Like in the recent clip they released. But in the last handful of episodes last season, they got so good. Playing off of the big mystery reveal in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. So I want to speculate on some of the things they can do in this season, missions to have an characters to include. Onward for wild speculation for Agents of SHIELD: season 2!

Marvel 1602

IMG_0020

So one of the early comics that David had me read was Marvel 1602. It is written by Neil Gaiman, which that alone makes it brilliant, but he takes our beloved Marvel characters and puts them in the world of 1602. Somehow all of the Marvel characters have somehow ended up in the time of Queen Elizabeth and King James. Some of them have high positions in the court even.

The interesting thing about seeing the Marvel characters in 1602 is seeing what they would be in this alternate universe. Part of what is great about reading is wondering who you will meet where. Some of the characters from X-men become particularly interesting because it is during a time that they did not have science. What would they think of people who had mutant powers? There is also a larger problem happening that no one can explain, but they know something is wrong. (Spoilers ahead for Marvel 1602) Continue reading
