12 Wishlist Games of #TableTopDay

The past four years, we have celebrated Geek and Sundry’s International TableTop Day. We’ve led up to the day by showcasing a game a day for 12 days, in the days leading up to the day itself: the 12 Days of TableTop Day. You may have noticed we haven’t done that this year, and that’s because, well, most of our games are currently either boxed up or loaned to others. There’s a longer story there, but for now, the games aren’t around for us to do much with them!

I certainly don’t want to do nothing for TableTop Day, however, and also want to give some thoughts on games for you to check out for the big day as well! Finally, the idea hit me.

Here are 12 games from my Amazon Wishlist, that I want to play but haven’t picked up yet! I had to dodge through the huge volume of expansions to games we already own, but here’s a good list of games that look interesting that we haven’t highlighted yet in previous years!

ttd-badge

It’s our 4th International TableTop Day! We have spent each year of this event by recommending 12 games before, so here’s our games from 2013, 2014, and 2015. But it’s 12 whole different games for this year, so you can see all those after the jump. A couple of words about each, and if you have any questions, you’ll find some TableTop videos or you can ask us questions in the comments!

A is for April Fool’s

Yeah… we’re not doing the A to Z Challenge this year. You may have noticed that from the complete lack of mentioning it before now… like the no theme reveal and no logo and such. It’s a great blogging activity, and we’ve done it twice before. You can read those posts here.
So what do we have coming up? Well, as you may have noticed, we do have a permanent addition to the blog – my sister Julia, check out her posts here. We still have Hannah going strong with a Star Trek post each month, expect one tomorrow!

We’re also still moving forward with our schemes to be self-hosted. We’re still a few months out on that, but know that it’s in the works. All of our current contributors are welcome and encouraged to keep on with us there, and we hope to be able to give you a whole lot more geeks than you’re getting here now!

With that, we’re also considering other sorts of online spaces and media we could include, besides just blog posts and social media. I think we have our ideas down, but let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see!

And later this month is International TableTop Day. We’ll be doing our 12 days of TableTop Day celebration again, I’m just not sure where… we shared them on Twitter and Facebook first year, Tumblr the second, and Instagram last year… I wonder whether a new platform is called for or what?…

Anyway, stay safe out there on the Internet today, friends. Don’t feed the trolls.

International TableTop Day 2015 Game Recommendations!

It’s that time again – International TableTop Day! This event started the same year that we started Comparative Geeks, and we started an annual tradition of the 12 Days of TableTop Day. We featured 12 games over 12 days before the big day – so at this point, there are 36 games we have recommended for play today!

If you missed this year’s game recommendations, you can find all of them on our Instagram – or you can read on after the jump for a bit more about each game! Hopefully today finds you playing one of these or many other games, together with old friends or new friends. You can find events near you on their website. In the words of Wil Wheaton – play more games!
