Clark Gregg versus Hayley Atwell, Lip Sync Battle

David and I watched this last weekend and it is simply amazing and must be watched by anyone who is a fan of Clark Gregg or Hayley Atwell. Clark Gregg kills it doing Brittany Spears, Toxic, which will forever be known as the song at the end of the world because of Doctor Who. Then there is Hayley Atwell doing an amazing Lady Gaga.

On Live-tweeting a movie…

In case you missed it, Holly and I live-tweeted a movie last night…

It was an interesting experience. Ever since I signed up for a Twitter, I’ve used it to throw out random thoughts as or after I consume media. Lines from songs, reactions to movies, comparisons and quotes. Before that, those sorts of thoughts were Facebook status updates.

But live-tweeting is above and beyond sharing your random thoughts as they strike you. It’s about having a device open the whole movie. It’s a distraction and a choice and definitely something to do at home… and with a movie you’ve seen before, preferably.

We were excited to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens a second time, but we also knew a few things… a) we’re going to watch it again after this, and b) most everybody who might see our tweets had already seen the movie. Meaning that the distraction is mitigated by the many more times we’ll watch the movie, our references and comments you might understand in the void, and we didn’t have to worry about spoiling anyone.

A perfect trial run…

Melissa McCarthy Lip Sync Battle

I have loved Melissa McCarthy ever since I watched her as Sookie in Gilmore Girls. I have heard of people saying that she is type cast, but I have enjoyed her in everything she has been in and if you have not watched Spy yet I highly recommend it. Until then here is Melissa McCarthy on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon competing in a Lip Sync Battle.

Happy International Women’s Day… Have More Deadpool?

Happy International Women’s Day! In past years, we might have shared a post like this one: A Little Something for International Women’s Day, March 8th. However, Deadpool has given a whole new meaning to the day, it seems… one everyone seemed to be thinking about today, if my Facebook feed was any indication.

Of course, one of my favorite takeaways from Deadpool was this:

Deadpool Surprised poster

That’s basically my favorite emoji, and if they replaced it with Deadpool that would be perfectly fine with me…

But the big Deadpool news today is, of course, that the How it Should Have Ended for Deadpool came out today… After the jump!

A Lifetime of Laughter… at the Expense of the Death of a Bachelor

So just glancing at the tags on the site, we haven’t talked about Panic! at the Disco before! They’re a band we really like, despite the fact that they’ve been tagged with terms like “emo.” I’m still not sure I understand what emo means, so I just ignore that – and listen to Panic!

One of the things I really like about Panic! is how their albums feel like a complete whole, like a performance. Complete with introductions, musical interludes, and a finale. Since I tend to like the whole albums, I hadn’t really looked for a music video from them – I’d just gotten the new album…

Their new album, Death of a Bachelor, is pretty great. We found out there was this music video from watching this episode of Teens React. Wow, okay, that’s a video… Then they went back, ironically, to another wedding: their first hit single. Of course, what I have to say is they missed another great video:

It was interesting to find out, though, that the band is down to just the lead singer (can you call it a band then?) I actually saw them live years ago, and it was fun because it was a large band. I mean, they had a lead cello. Just a lot of musicians. To be down to one man left standing is too bad. But hey, he’s keeping the music coming.
